Nissim ben Jacob ben Nissim (ibn Shahin)
- (c.990-1062)North African talmudist. Born in Kairouan, he became head of the academy there after the death of Hananel. He had close contacts with Samuel ibn Nagrela, and corresponded with Hai Gaon. His Kitah Miftah Maghalik al-Talmud (Key to the Locks of the Talmud) is a commentary on the Talmud and its methodology.
